The pick of picnics

Mandarin Oriental, New York has teamed up with pioneering chef and founder of the Edible Schoolyard NYC programme, Alice Waters, to create two exclusive picnics for its guests. Presented in traditional picnic baskets, complete with eco-friendly tableware, you can choose between the Edible Schoolyard Gourmet Picnic by Alice Waters – which features such delights as Four Story Hill Grilled Quail with Thyme and Fresh Summer Fruit with Candied Citrus Peel and Bittersweet Chocolate – or the Mandarin Oriental Classic Picnic, which contains Asian-inspired delicacies such as Chicken Satay with Spicy Peanut Sauce and Green Tea Mascarpone Cake with Fresh Berries, created by the hotel’s executive chef Toni Robertson. From every picnic sold, a donation will be made to Edible Schoolyard NYC, supporting the project’s ethos that school is the best place to promote awareness among children about the connection between the environment, the food that they eat and their health.
