Two of the best
Mandarin Oriental is delighted to have two of its Michelin-starred restaurants on the revered San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards list, and to be the only hotel group to have more than one mention. Although from opposite sides of the world, both restaurants share a winning trait: creating memorable dining experiences with innovative cooking.
It is the second time that the two-Michelin-starred Amber at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong has been included on the list – a fitting tribute for the delicious cuisine from talented chef Richard Ekkebus. To mark the occasion, the hotel is offering a luxury stay with a culinary incentive. The San Pellegrino 50 Best package includes sumptuous accommodation for two, breakfast and a chance to try Amber’s signature dishes with an eight-course menu à deux. Delight in a contemporary interpretation of French cuisine, and expect to indulge in dishes such as sea urchin in a lobster jelly, or blood orange sorbet.
In London, Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park is celebrating the debut of Dinner as the highest new entry on the prestigious San Pellegrino list. The one-Michelin-starred Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, which is listed in ninth place, is headed up by executive chef Ashley Palmer-Watts. The restaurant is inspired by historic British gastronomy, with creations such as Meat Fruit (mandarin and chicken liver parfait) and Tipsy Cake (spit roast pineapple) causing a sensation on the palate. Opt for the Suite Gourmet Stay and you’ll be booked at a table for two at Dinner (with a GBP 200 credit), and will receive a Heston Blumenthal cookbook as a memento of your evening.
